The Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra is now accepting auditions from female sopranos who can sing the part of Maria during the orchestra’s Bernstein Birthday Bash concert on October 28, 2018.
- Prospective singers should record a video of themselves singing Tonight from West Side Story with piano accompaniment. See the audition rules for complete information about recording requirements.
- The video should then be uploaded to YouTube and the link sent to the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra at LSO@ntelos.net. In the body of the email message, include the full name of the singer, address, phone number, and email address.
- Video auditions must be submitted via email before 11:59 p.m. on September 30, 2018. Auditions submitted after that deadline will not be considered.
- A panel of music professionals will review the videos and select the singer for the concert.
Auditions are being accepted from sopranos, ages 16 through 25 years of age. Singers under age 18 will need to provide a consent of parent or legal guardian to be considered for the part. Complete rules and the consent form are located below.
